Andy Jones, MDiv
Chief Executive Officer
Andy has been on staff with WARM NC since 2018. During that time, he has held several positions throughout the organization. He has served as Volunteer Coordinator, Hurricane Recovery Coordinator, Community Outreach Coordinator, Deputy Director, Director of Strategic Growth, and Chief Strategy Officer. Experience gained in these roles, led him to be an ideal candidate for the Board of Directors to name as CEO in April of 2024. As CEO, Andy coordinates with WARM NC leadership to establish the strategic direction for the organization. He also collaborates with community partners to bring about lasting change in the Cape Fear region by building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with affordable housing organizations and those tangentially connected to the cause of providing safe and healthy homes for all.
When asked, Andy self-identifies as a connector of resources. He relishes the opportunity to connect individuals, churches, organizations, and businesses to all of the good work being done in our community (even if it’s not with WARM, shhh don’t tell)!
Andy has operated in the disaster space since volunteering in Biloxi, MS following Hurricane Katrina. After Hurricane Florence hit in 2018, Andy served in leadership roles of several Long Term Recovery Groups (LTRG). He serves on the LTRG's construction committees in Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender counties. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for North Carolina Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NCVOAD). It is a joy for him to connect with other agencies in the recovery effort.
Andy and his wife, Becca, have three daughters and one son. He loves going to the beach, reading, playing volleyball, and traveling as a family. Becca serves as the Associate Pastor to Children and Families at First Baptist Church of Wilmington.
Three fun facts about Andy:
When I was 5, I was pretty sure I would be a teacher when I grew up.
One item on my “bucket” list is to visit all of the lower 48 states before my oldest graduates high school. We are about halfway there with 4 years to go!
The most unusual job I’ve ever had was a Retrieval Specialist. I worked on call for a funeral home and had to go in the middle of the night to collect the deceased to take them to the funeral home.
