WARM NC held a Skills Day on Saturday, March 25th at our workshop on Princess Street in the Soda Pop District. WARM construction staff led participants through several different stations to build their skills and confidence.
Participants learned valuable lessons about which flooring is best for different rooms and practiced installing both vinyl and laminate flooring. They created brand new stairs and landings. The group also learned how to operate a variety of power tools and the rules of construction site safety.
These potential new volunteers made new friends and they now have the skills and confidence they need to make a lasting impact for our neighbors in-need. The landings that were constructed during this event will be used on future rebuilds for homeowners that need them.
Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills and meet new friends! If you’re interested in making your community a better place, contact WARM’s Volunteer Coordinator Sadie Frye at (910) 399-7563 or email sadiefrye@warmnc.org.
