When you think of a male dominated industry, does construction come to mind? While the majority of employees working for WARM are female, this is not typically the case in the construction industry.

Women make up only 10.9% of all people working in construction. This means that out of every 10 employees, 1 of them is a female. The odds are even more bleak for those working in the field – for every 100 employees, only 1 is female.
Today is International Women’s Day with this year’s theme being #BreaktheBias. We are encouraging women to #BreaktheBias by volunteering (or applying to work) with WARM! We believe that women are just as capable of swinging a hammer, cutting a 2x4, or drilling a hole.
We will continue to #breakthebias this upcoming Saturday when WARM will host the National Association of Women in Construction Wilmington-Cape Fear Post (NAWIC) as part of their first-ever WIC Week! NAWIC members, alongside their friends and family will volunteer their skills to help a WARM homeowner in need all while celebrating women working in construction. Check out WARM on social media to follow the fun!
