JC LYLE

Executive Director 

JC's professional and volunteer efforts have always focused on housing needs. Her work experience ranges from renting apartments to designing subdivisions. In 2003, as a volunteer with the United Methodist Church, she spent 4 months on Eleuthera Island, Bahamas building the administrative and marketing infrastructure for a home repair ministry.

She has led mission teams to various parts of NC and to Biloxi, Mississippi to help restore homes after hurricanes. Locally, she serves homeless families through Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network and is involved with her church.
 
In 2009, JC was hired as WARM's executive director and has led a period of record growth! WARM annually rebuilds more than triple the number of households served in 2008.

In 2012, JC was named
Wilma Magazine's Woman to Watch in the Nonprofit Category. In 2014, JC accepted WARM's Coastal Entrepreneur Award in the Nonprofit Category.
 


THOMAS BURNS

Construction Manager
A NC licensed General Contractor with over 30 years of construction experience, Tom uses his knowledge to help WARM achieve its goal of providing low-income homeowners with quality repairs and accessibility upgrades. Tom manages the construction team, coordinates volunteers, meets personally with each homeowner, completes cost estimates, oversees the purchase of materials and skilled trade labor.

A caring and mission-oriented man, Tom especially enjoys working with the homeowners and volunteers. His position with WARM does not feel like "work," but like fulfilling a calling.
Tom is a father of one daughter and four sons, and a grandfather of six.

MELANIE JAMES
Program Manager

Melanie oversees all aspects of the application process, works with partner agencies to best serve the homeowners, and helps coordinate the home repair work. She also manages office based volunteers.
 
Melanie has work experience, in the for-profit sector, with bookkeeping, office work in the construction industry,
and property management. Melanie founded Heavenly Stock, a ministry of St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church that helps clothe children in need. Her work through this ministry intensified her passion to continually serve others and make a difference in the lives of those in need. This passion and her skill set will benefit WARM and serve our low-income neighbors well. She is the mother of 1 daughter and 1 son.



SHERYL JONES
Operations Manager
 
Sheryl manages WARM finances, office operations and assists with grant compliance and reporting. Sheryl's background is in the for-profit sector mostly in public accounting and tax but a growing passion to help those in need drew her to the non-profit sector.
 
Sheryl feels extremely blessed to have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by working at WARM. Sheryl is an identical twin, and the mother of one son. In her spare time she enjoys various sports, especially running, volleyball, tennis, and obstacle course racing.
 
 
 



NEAL TURNER
Construction Coordinator

Neal coordinates and performs work on rebuild sites. He came to WARM to help continue growth in numbers of rebuilds completed each year. Neal says he is happy to be with WARM because, "I feel this job is where I'm called to be because along with making essential home repairs for people in need, I am serving a role in ministry." In his free time, Neal likes to check out local theater, listen to music, and spend time on the water.

 
 
 
  

 
 
GERALD WAITE
Construction Coordinator

Gerald spends most of his days on the rebuild site! He has helped WARM greatly increase the number of volunteer teams we can accommodate and, of course, the number of homeowners we serve! He came to WARM from the for-profit construction world and loves to train volunteers and help people who really need it. Many volunteers return to WARM asking to work with Gerald!

Gerald and his wife Meghan have five children and love outdoor adventures such as ATV parks.
 
 
 

 
 
SARA EVERETT
Administrative Assistant
 
Sara assists with administrative duties in the WARM office. After serving in the military, she decided to pursue a career in nonprofits. When she found WARM after moving to the Wilmington area from California, she was inspired by WARM's mission and grateful to join such a strong and committed staff.
 
In her space time, Sara tends a large vegetable garden and works on her master's degree.

 

 
 

 
 
ELIZABETH GUY
Marketing and Events Coordinator
 
Elizabeth is a recent graduate of UNCW, where she focused in Integrated Marketing Communication. She obtained several years of experience in the hospitality and event coordinating industry here in Wilmington, focusing largely on weddings and banquets. Elizabeth is very eager to apply her talents to a cause that will have a lasting impact on her hometown community and neighbors!

In her free time Elizabeth enjoys staying active outdoors, gardening, and traveling to new places. She also enjoys many creative hobbies such as floral design, painting, and creating stationary. She is excited to add her creativity and support to the WARM team!
