… then you would make a perfect addition to the WARM, Inc. Volunteer Corps! Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and locations. They come as individuals or they come as part of a group. They come for different reasons and have a wide range of skills.
Do you live outside of our service area? You can enrich the lives of others and enjoy some of the wonderful attractions of Southeastern North Carolina such as our beaches, our parks, and our historic sites. WARM, Inc. will work with you to ensure that your visit is meaningful and fun. Please click here to read more about our beautiful community.

The Hype (Publicity, Fundraising, and Business Development)
- Help inform the public about substandard housing and our solution
- Refer potential WARM, Inc. applicants
- Plan events and other ways to raise funds
- Photograph project work or other events
- Speak on behalf of WARM, Inc. at events or meetings
- May serve on the Board of Directors or Advisory Council
Hammer Heads (Construction)
- Work on home repair projects throughout WARM, Inc.’s 5 county service areas
- Supervised by Project Manager, who is also a WARM, Inc. Volunteer
- Help to ensure that all components of a project are completed
- Generally work in teams on projects which can last from 1-5 days
- If you are not already part of a group, WARM, Inc. will match you up with other individuals to form a work team
- Projects include: basic home repairs, painting, cleanup, yard work, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, appliance installation, project preparation and demolition.
Ambassadors (Group Point of Contact)
- WARM, Inc. group leaders within their your business, churches, civic organizations, etc.
- Primary liaison between WARM, Inc. and your group
- Collect information regarding the group members’ availability, interests and skills so WARM, Inc. can match them to the right project
- May or may not have construction skills of their own
- Keep your group informed of WARM, Inc. activities throughout the year
A WARM Welcome (Volunteer Coordination & Hospitality Team)
- Call individuals who have signed up to help, match them up to a work team per their location, skills, and availability
- Work with a Project Manager who knows the skills needed for the project
- Arrange lunches to our local work teams
- Arrange meals or perform other acts of hospitality to work teams visiting from out of town. Lots of room for creativity here!
Desk Warriors (Administrative support)
- Detail oriented individuals with various clerical skills
- May perform reception or customer service functions
- Provide a boost to office staff
- Some work in the office, some work from home
