WARM's Staff

Jeannie Cariker "JC" Skane, Executive Director: JC oversees all of WARM, Inc.'s activities and establishes new procedures to carry out its mission. She has a long history as a volunteer and ambassador for WARM within her church. Her vision for WARM is to see it expand and become more diversified so that more very low income homeowners are served and more supporters receive the rewards of impacting their community. A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, JC is married to Jim, a die-hard New York Giants fan.

Madeline Watson, Project Administrator: Madeline oversees the delivery of WARM Traditional Services, from application review, through the assessment and volunteer coordination, to completion of the home repair work. She is excited to be a part of a team of dedicated individuals who come together to fulfill such an important mission. Outside of WARM she and her husband enjoy many outdoor activities.

WARM's Volunteer Leaders

Teresa Lee, Volunteer Recruiting and Coordination: Teresa is helping WARM, Inc. to streamline the way we communicate with and organize volunteers. Her expertise is vital to our growth and her focus is on helping volunteers realize and develop their skills in service to others. After Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, Teresa and her husband Murrie (a WARM, Inc. Board Member) worked with volunteer mission teams all over North Carolina as a liaison with recovery efforts in Biloxi, Mississippi to plan and execute 18 mission trips. As a result, North Carolina had more disaster volunteers work in Biloxi than the rest of the country combined!

Glynda Paternotte, Special Programs Administrator: Glynda handles programs outside of our Traditional Services, such as the Urgent Repair Program (URP), funded by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and our new weatherization program in partnership with the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance. Glynda’s background includes design work on new construction and remodeling projects for living facilities for the aging. One of her recent projects is Taylor Homes, located downtown and owned by the Wilmington Housing Authority. Glynda is married to Sandy and they love to travel together.

Leon West, Project Manager: Leon is not just one of the founding members of WARM, but served as the Project Director for 13 years, overseeing all aspects of WARM’s construction/rehabilitation projects. He now advises WARM and volunteers on project sites, continuing to help WARM become more efficient in the provision of services. Leon and his wife of 52 years, Joyce, have 4 children and 2 grandchildren.
